On 29 April 2026, the Perth USAsia Centre, in partnership with the Women in Defence Association, hosted a roundtable with Melanie Brock AM at Winthrop Hall, the University of Western Australia — exploring Australia and Japan as key middle powers in the Indo-Pacific, defence collaboration, critical minerals, Japan’s industrial coordination and gender diversity in leadership.
