Melanie Brock, CEO of Melanie Brock Advisory, was selected to represent Japanese women at the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference, "Women in Leadership" breakfast and addressed the changing demographics in Japan and the nature of leadership required especially with a dire labour shortage. This is the biggest threat to the Japanese economy. Government leadership saw the employment rate for women increase by more than 5 percentage points in a mere three years to 2016. It remains key for Japan to get even more women working. Watch Japan continue to transform - quoting the creator or the term “womenomics” Goldman Sachs vice chair and chief Japan strategist Kathy Matsui, 'Japan takes a long time to decide to change, but given homogenous nature of this society, once change starts.... don’t blink.'
